BALLSTON QUARTER PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA

The Ballston Quarter Pedestrian Bridge is being implemented in the bustling and expanding downtown Ballston Quarter area in Arlington, Virginia. The bridge connects the Ballston Mall with a parking garage across the primary thoroughfare of Wilson Boulevard.

BüroEhring was brought in prior to the fabrication phase of the bridge to assist the architects and fabricators of the steel and glass in the structural and enclosure plus fabrication design of the glazing and glass panel connections for the bridge, the primary steel member splices and splice connection details, the steel member connection details. BüroEhring is working in close liaison with the project team to develop these details, and will ultimately deliver a BIM model that encapsulates all of these details into the design.
