COMCAST TOWER GRAND CANOPY
BüroEhring provided structural design and construction phase analysis and detailing for the tower roof terrace’s new steel and glass grand canopy and structural glass balustrade and wind shield at the new Comcast Technology & Innovation Center in Philadelphia, PA. Utilizing advanced finite element analysis in addition to thermal analysis, we designed the enclosure system and detailed the architecturally exposed steel structure, the glass enclosure, and the operable timber louvers. Additionally, we designed and detailed the cantilevered glass balustrade and wind shield, which features triple-pane, 9-foot tall glass panels supported by a steel shoe structure.
