INCUBATOR-LIVING CITIES

NEW YORK, NY

The “Incubator” proposes a series of mixed-use towers on the west side of Manhattan that foster interaction, sustainability, and engaged community activity; a deviation from the typical Manhattan residential tower, which creates an insular, private community.  The ground plane is terraced and elevated to create a unique public landscape for the towers’ residents and the local community.  The towers’ geometries are informed by city and river views and daylight analysis, as well as structural optimization analysis and wind load considerations.  We provided for this competition entry schematic structural design, structural optimization and form finding, and façade consulting.
