645 Main Street is a new multi-family residential building being developed by Wilder Balter Partners, Inc. and designed by L&M Design LLC. Included in this project are 5-stories of rental units that will sit above a 3-story exposed parking garage. The project is seeking LEED Platinum Certification, featuring a high-performance building envelope and on-site energy generation in the form of rooftop solar photovoltaics.
Additional Information Büro Ehring provides structural engineering services for the project’s parking garage structure and building enclosure consulting services for the entirety of the project. The 2-way spanning cast-in-place concrete structure implements drop panels to minimize the structural slab depths within the parking structure and transfer level supporting the 5-story timber frame structure above. The permanent SOE system along Main Street requires careful consideration to limit isolate the structural response across the interface due to seismic or incidental surcharge loading conditions.
