DC Canopy is a signature lightweight walkway canopy of glass and steel that cantilevers from the main entrance of new Connecticut Avenue residential building in Washington, DC. This 900 sqft glass soffit floats under the suspension of the exposed stainless steel structure. The canopy consists of a fabricated plate, tapered stainless steel box beams and columns made up of 1” and 3” thick plates.
Additional Information The work consisted of full structural engineering design of the cantilevered glass and steel, including structural analysis of the glass and supporting structure, detailing, and constructability consulting.
