Designed by Foster + Partners, Comcast Technology and Innovation Center is a 60-story, mixed-use tower in Philadelphia that combines high-tech research and development spaces with a hotel. The Level 45 project aimed to add an orangery, including its enclosure system and balustrades, to its terrace area. Büro Ehring provided structural design and construction phase analysis and detailing for the tower roof terrace’s new steel and glass grand canopy and structural glass balustrade and windshield.
Additional Information
Büro Ehring also provided detailed design for the curtain wall replacement on the north facade of multiple stories to respond to enhanced performance requirements. Utilizing advanced finite element analysis and thermal analysis, Büro Ehring designed the enclosure system and detailed the architecturally exposed steel structure, glass enclosure, and the operable timber louvers.
